Park Police Officer I:
Park Police Officer I is an entry level law
enforcement position that includes the presentation of cultural and
environmental educational programs. No subordinates report to this position.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a field supervisor.
Effectiveness is measured by personal observation and periodic evaluation of
written and other assigned tasks. Scheduled hours provide for a 40 hour work
week with variable hours and shifts, although work may be assigned on any day,
at any hour of the day or night. Park Police Officer I performs uniformed patrol
of District properties as assigned, assists park visitors, protects facilities
and park resources, enforces Kansas laws and District Park Codes, detects
crimes, arrests offenders and presents interpretive and other educational
programs on cultural and environmental topics.
Education: Bachelor's
degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and
