About CopJobs

CopJobs listed law enforcement openings from 1998 to 2015 and relaunched in 2026. It's free for officers and always will be.

How we get pay data

We collect postings from government sources: city and county application portals, state training-council job lists, and departments' own career pages. Today that's 2,572 open jobs from 1,365 agencies.

A figure appears on CopJobs only when a posting states it. For pay, bonuses and lateral rules we keep the exact sentence it came from, which you'll see quoted under the figure, along with a link to the posting and the date we read it. If a posting doesn't say, the page says "Not published." We never estimate.

Postings close, and figures go stale. Every posting is re-checked at least twice a week, and bonuses drop off on the end date the department gives. If you see something wrong, tell us at hello@copjobs.com and we'll fix it.

Not affiliated

CopJobs is independent. We are not affiliated with any police department, sheriff's office, state agency, or association. Applications go to each department's own portal; we are not part of the hiring process.
