Prior to his actual enrollment in the Basic Academy, the Trainee may be assigned various duties throughout the department that requires public contact, but not the enforcement of laws. Examples of Duties The Trainee's primary mission is to attend the Basic Academy, and complete the course of instruction. The Trainee has no police powers during enrollment, and is a probationary employee during this period. Continued employment is subject to successful progress in, and successful completion of, the course of instruction.
