CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS
The City of Derby is accepting applications for certified police officers. Certified applicants must
be Connecticut P.O.S.T.C certified police officers with a minimum of two (2) continuous years
of experience (must be off Field Training for 2 years) in good standing with their current
department. Applicants must successfully pass the CPCA written exam with a score of 70% at
time of application. No CHIP test required. The City of Derby is committed to building a
workforce of diverse individuals. Minorities, females, and those bilingual are encouraged to
apply. Current salary range is $70,408 - $87,131. We are currently negotiating a new contract
and anticipating wage increases. Lateral transfer’s rate of pay shall correspond with previous
law enforcement experience years of service. Department seniority shall be based on actual
years of service with the City of Derby Police Department.
