There is currently Two full-time position with a possibility of additional positions becoming available. Applicants must be a resident of CT, possess a valid CT driver's license at time of appointment, and possess a valid and active CT POST Certification OR an active Connecticut State Police Trooper in good standing. The Thomaston Police Department is also hiring (3) Part-time Certified Police Officers. Applicants will be required to sit for an Oral Panel Examination, take a written examination, and be subject to an extensive background investigation. Said investigation will include, but not necessarily limited to, Polygraph, Psychological, Medical Evaluation, Military/Employment personnel record review, and Chiefs interviews. The Town of Thomaston offers a competitive salary and benefits package including paid sick time, fourteen paid holidays, paid vacation, 457B with the Town matching contributions I00% of 5% of wages, bid shifts, and a 4-2 schedule for Patrol Officers. Lateral Hires are brought in at Grade (B) rate of pay and 120hrs of vacation time. The Thomaston Police Department also offers additional incentives; shift differential for evening and midnight shifts, sick time buyback and Health Ins. waiver (Family Plan $7,000.00) Starting Salary Grade (B) Laterals Per current CBA $76,028.
