Serving a diverse population of over 60,000 residents encompassing approximately 22 square miles, the West Hartford Police Department is comprised of 131 sworn personnel and more than 20 full-time civilian employees. Salary for the position of police officer as of 07/01/2021 ranges from $71,110.00 to $91,780.00, with a variety of competitive benefits, including a pension plan. Certified law enforcement applicants may qualify for higher starting pay and/or other incentives, based on years of service.
