The Fayette Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to
providing and maintaining a safe and secure community for its citizens, businesses and
visitors. Fayette is a small college town with approximately 2700 residents. The
department has staffing of 8 full-time officers with 7-10 reserve officers. Officers have 4-
day work weeks, 10 hour shifts with 24/7 coverage.
We are currently seeking applications for the position of Corporal. Minimum 5 years of
law enforcement experience required. Pay based on experience.
All applicants will be subject to a comprehensive background investigation. All
equipment and uniforms are provided.
Fayette Police Department provides an excellent benefit package which includes paid
vacation, sick leave, 11 paid holidays, group health, life insurance and fully paid
retirement plan. Pay raise after successful completion of a six-month probationary
period.
The primary duties and responsibilities of a Police Officer include the prevention and
suppression of crime, the investigation of offenses and the arrest of offenders, the
protection of life and property, and the preservation of the peace.
Job Minimum Requirements
• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be Missouri POST A licensed (Police Academy graduate)
• Must have either a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum age of 21
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
