The Gasconade County Sheriff's Office in Hermann, MO is accepting applicants for two full-time Patrol Deputies. The GCSO is currently staffed with 13 commissioned deputies who patrol 512 square miles in east central Missouri with a population of approximately 16,000 people. The Patrol Deputy performs a variety of law enforcement duties within the county, including but not limited to: patrolling in a radio- equipped vehicle to preserve law and order by discovering/preventing the commission of crimes and enforcing Federal, State and County ordinances; responds to calls of service, report writing, on-scene investigations as well as follow up incidents. Many other duties are required as directed by the command staff. Minimum Requirements: • United States Citizen • 21 years of age • Must be able to able to pass a criminal background check, a drug test (and will be subject to random drug testing). • Must be able to achieve and maintain a level of physical fitness that allows Deputies to safely and competently perform the essential functions of the job. • High School Diploma or GED • Possess Class A or B MO P.O.S.T. certification. • Possess a valid Missouri Driver License • Must not have been convicted of, plead guilty or no contest to, or been diverted on a serious traffic violation within the past five years. • Benefits include county paid employee health insurance up to $600 per month, paid retirement (LAGERS and CERF), uniforms and all required equipment to include patrol rifle, shotgun, Taser, etc. Take-home patrol car for employees who reside within a reasonable distance of the county line, as specified by the Sheriff. • We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage all to apply including women and minorities. • We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, including minorities and persons with disabilities. • We are an organization that values diversity.
