Deputy Sheriff Position The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the positions of full time Deputy Sheriff and full time Deputy/Investigator. Qualified individuals for the position of Deputy Sheriff must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, class A peace officers license, and possess a valid driver’s license. Starting salary is $42,000. Qualified individuals for the position of Deputy Sheriff/Investigator must be at least 26 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, class A peace officers license, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement. Starting salary will be dependent on training and experience. Benefits include CERF retirement, Employee’s medical insurance is paid, paid vacation and sick leave, ability to accumulate up to 480 hours of Compensatory Time, uniform allowance, take home vehicle, department issue sidearm, paid continuing education training, and partial payment for personal cellular telephone.
