The City of Coppell Police Department is seeking to add Police Recruits and Police Officers to our team! We are seeking candidates with heart, soul, and a passion for public service. Opportunity Description Police Recruit: A police recruit is a temporary status for new employees while they complete the following: Satisfactorily attend and complete the Basic Course in Applied Police Science (BCAPS, also known as Basic Police Academy) Satisfactorily acquire a T.C.O.L.E Basic Peace Officer Certification Satisfactorily complete Field Training and Probationary Period Police Officer: CLICK HERE to view the full scope of this opportunity, including essential job functions. Candidate Engagement Plan September 9-December 6: Accepting applications During our recruiting period, we will conduct our Application Material Review weekly. Qualified candidates will be invited to schedule a Physical Fitness Test and complete a Personal History Statement (PHS) to be brought with them to their test. Following testing, candidates will complete a Written Examination. Candidates who pass their Physical Fitness Test and Written Examination will undergo an Internal Background Investigation.
