A Police Officer I performs responsible work to provide for public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws, and promoting good community relations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED
• Successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training and pass the Basic Law Enforcement state exam or a current law enforcement certification through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Commission
• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record
• Minimum age of 20 years

Work Schedule

Rotating 12 hour shifts (4 days on 4 days off). Paid bi-weekly.
